ANDREW - DYER.

A wedding in which very considerable interest was manifested, was solemnised at St. Matthew's Church this afternoon, when Miss Joyce Marjorie Dyer, elder daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. B. Dyer, Renall street, Masterton, was married to Mr. John Andrew, eldest son of the late Mr. J. Andrew, and Mrs. Bett, of Nelson.

The church was decorated by girlfriends in pink and white, a large floral wedding-bell being included. The ceremony was performed by the bride's uncle, Archdeacon Innis-Jones, of Wellington. The Junior Boy Scouts formed a guard of honour at the church in recognition of the fact that Miss Dyer was the instigator of that movement, and was for many years their much-loved Scout Mistress.

The bride, who was given away by her father, was attired in a handsome wedding dress of white mousseline de soie, draped with beautiful lace and pearl trimmings. A square train was suspended from the shoulders, and she wore, the customary veil and orange blossoms, and carried a bouquet of white and pink carnations and maiden hair fern.

She was attended by four bridesmaids, Miss Kathleen Dyer (sister), the Misses Isobel and Margaret Andrew (sisters of the bridegroom) and Miss Beryl Innis-Jones (cousin), who all wore charming frocks of lavender georgette, accordion pleated at the sides, relieved by touches of silver, and large black hats with pink and black velvet trimmings. They carried bouquets of lavender and pink.

Mr James Andrew acted as best man, and Messrs. Peter Andrew, Athol Innis-Jones, and Eric Weekes were groomsmen...

Among the guests were Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Morrison, Mr. and Mrs. W. Andrew, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Moss and Miss Rita Moss, the Misses N. and E. Cooper, Mrs. D. M. Graham and the Misses Free, Laing, Bunny, Dalziell, Carrick, Waddington, Daniell, Wardell, Graham, Henry, Gawith and numerous other girl friends.

After the ceremony Mr. and Mrs. Dyer entertained a large number of guests at their residence in Renall street when the customary toasts were proposed, and later in the afternoon Mr. and Mrs. John Andrew left for the south on their honeymoon trip... The large array of handsome and useful wedding presents testifled to the popularity of the young couple, who will return to Masterton and take up their future residence at "Ica," the old homestead of the Andrew family.
