WEDDING AT TAUERU

The first marriage to be celebrated in St Alban's Church took place on Wednesday afternoon, when Mr A. Taplin, of Taratahi, and Miss Ethel Louise Taplin, eldest daughter of Mrs J. Taplin, of the Taueru, were united. The bride, who was given away by Mr J. Loader, was attended by her two sisters, Misses D. and P. Taplin, and looked exceedingly nice. Mr W. Taplin, brother of the bridegroom, acted as best man... On the conclusion of the service the "Wedding March" was played by Mrs Mason, who presided at the organ.

As it was the first marriage in the new church, the bride was presented with a beautifully bound Bible by the officiating minister, the Rev. A.M. Johnson, Vicar of St Matthew's, Masterton. A reception was afterwards held at the residence of the bride's mother...
