MOORE-BAIRD, 20 Jul 1908

A quiet wedding took place at Bramerton on Monday, 20th inst., in the presence of a few old friends and some members of both families, the contracting parties being Ella Beatrice, eldest daughter of Mrs Baird, of Bramerton, and Norman Frederick, second son of Mr F. Moore, of Wanganui. The Rev. A.M. Johnson, of St Mark's, Wellington, assisted by the Rev. J. H. Sykes, of Te Nui, performed the marriage ceremony.... The bridesmaids were Miss Jessie Baird, sister of the bride, and Miss Mace, cousin...The groom was attended by his brother, Mr Wyvern Moore, as best man. The bride was given away by her uncle, Mr Mace, of Bramerton. Mr and Mrs Norman Moore left for the South by the evening train, amidst showers of rose leaves and the good wishes of their many friends. The bride and bridegroom's future home, "Whakapaiho," is in the Wanganui district. The young couple were the recipients of many beautiful gifts.

Mr NORMAN MOORE

The many friends of Mr Norman F. Moore will regret to hear of his death which occurred at his mother's residence, Ratana, Wanganui, yesterday afternoon [8 Sep 1935], after some months of illness. Deceased was the second son of Mrs H.G. Moore and the late Mr Fred Moore, formerly of Glenburn, Wairarapa.

Deceased, who was born at "Glenburn," Wairarapa, 57 years ago, engaged successfully in sheep farming for many years.

The late Mr Moore was of quiet and retiring disposition. He did not take an active part in public life. He had a very genial temperament and was very popular amongst a wide circle of friends. He is survived by his wife, who is a daughter of Mr S. Baird, of Cambridge Terrace, Masterton, also a sister, Mrs W.G. Broad, and a brother, Mr Wyvern G. Moore, of Wanganui.

The funeral will take place to-morrow (Tuesday) and will leave the Masterton Railway Station after the arrival of the 2.30 p.m. train, for St. Matthew's Church, thence to the Masterton Cemetery.
