June 1933, Vestry Meeting

Minutes of Vestry meeting held at the Vicarage on Tuesday, June 27, 1933, at 7.30 pm. (Page 216)


Present
The Vicar Presiding; Churchwardens Maunsell and Ninnes; Vestrymen Hale, Russell, Griffin, Hyde, Penistone, Clark, Coleman and Denbee.


Minutes
The Minutes of the last meeting of the vestry held on Tuesday, May 30th were read and confirmed.


Financial
Mr Russell moved and Mr Penistone seconded That the Financial Statement be received and accounts amounting to £3.1.6 passed for payment. Carried.


Parish Hall mortgage, etc
The Vicar reported the recommendations of the sub-committee appointed to consider

(1) the question of a Parish Hall sinking fund;

(2) The mortgage on the Parish Hall;

(3) Monies on fixed deposit;

(4) The Parish Hall section becoming ratable.

In the matter of (1) "Sinking Fund" Mr Hale moved and Russell seconded That as a  Sinking Fund for the Parish Hall the Vestry take up 10 B shares in the Building Society at a cost of £30 per annum. Carried.

Concerning (2) "Mortgage" Mr Penistone moved and Mr Clark seconded That the sub-recommendation (That consideration of the renewal of the mortgage on the Parish Hall be held over pending the result of inquiries re the possibility of getting a new mortgage at 5% or less for a term of 7 years) "Be Adopted."  Carried.

Recommendation (3) "Deposit Monies" Mr Clark moved the adoption of this recommendation, i.e., That the £500 on fixed deposit at the Bank of N.S.W. be transferred at maturity to the P O Savings Bank and that any balance of the £150 fixed deposit not required for immediate use be also transferred to the P O S B. Seconded by Mr Penistone and Carried.

Mr Hale Moved and Mr Russell seconded That in view of the letter from the Diocesan Treasurer concerning Hall Rates, no further action be taken. That the
