February 1935 Vestry Meeting
Minutes of Vestry Meeting held at the Vicarage on Tuesday, February 26, 1933, at 8 p.m. (Page 245)
Present
The Vicar presiding, Churchwardens Maunsell and Ninnes; Vestrymen Hyde, Hale, Penistone, Clarke, Coleman, Russell, Peacock, Denbee.
Apology Dr Hosking
Minutes
The Minutes of the Vestry meeting held on November 27, 1934 were read and confirmed.
Trust Account
Mr Peacock moved and Mr Ninnes seconded That our Treasurer be asked to prepare a statement for presentation at the next vestry meeting showing
(1) The amount of interest that would have accrued to each trust account had such trust account been placed in the P.O.S.B. [Post Office Savings Bank] instead of being used for the purpose of financing the Parish Account and
(2) The amount such trust accounts have saved the parish by way of accounts though being used the way they have been. Carried.
Financial Statement
It was resolved that the financial statement be reviewed and accounts totalling £92.8.1 passed for payment.
P J Borthwick
The Vicar reported Mr P J Borthwick had offered a donation towards the funds of the Garden Party organised by the Ladies Guild, to the same amount as the Garden Party effort had produced.
It was resolved to place on record the Vestry's appreciation of Mr Borthwick's very generous offer.
New Hymn and Prayer Books
It was resolved that the Vicar be authorised to purchase 5 dozen [60] Hymn and Prayer Books for general use.
Door mats
Mr Peacock moved and Mr Hyde seconded that the well in the porch of the church be filled in and a well sunk inside the entrance, and that a new door mat be purchased. Carried.
Offertories
The Churchwardens were appointed to take up the offertories for March.
The meeting closed with the Grace.
