BAIRD-PILMER
At St. Matthew's Church this afternoon, a wedding, in which considerable local interest was taken, was solemnised, the contracting parties being Miss Doris Pilmer, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs A. G. Pilmer, of South Road, Masterton, and Mr Stuart Macdonald Baird, son of Mrs Baird, of Solway, Masterton. The church was crowded with relatives and friends, and the ceremony was performed by the Rev. H. Watson, vicar of St. Matthew's.

The bridesmaids were Miss May Pilmer (sister of the bride), Miss Molly Mace (cousin of the bridegroom), and Miss Zona Vallance... Mr Burn Vallance was best man...
After the ceremony a large number of guests attended the reception at Mr and Mrs Pilmer's residence, South road, at which the usual toasts were honour-ed and felicitous speeches made, the heartiest congratulations being extended.
Subsequently Mr and Mrs Baird left by motor ear for the north on their honeymoon trip.
