Minutes of Annual Meeting of Parishioners held in the Parish Hall on Thursday, April 28, 1932, at 7.30 p.m. - page 195-196


Present

The Vicar, Revd. E.J. Rich presiding; Rev. McLevie; Churchwardens and some 40 parishioners.


Apologies

Apologies for absence were received from Messrs Major, Sydney Smith, Hickson, Clarke and Taylor.


Minutes

The Minutes of the last annual meeting held on Tuesday, April 27, 1931, were read and confirmed.


Report and Balance Sheet

Mr Denbee moved That the Report and Balance Sheet as circulated, be adopted as read. Seconded by Mr Hyde and Carried.


Adoption of Report and Balance Sheet

The Vicar moved the Adoption of the Report and Balance Sheet and in doing so referred to the spiritual side of Church work and said splendid progress had been made in all departments. The various parish organisations had all co-operated and he wished to thank all church workers and helpers for their local services during the year.


Mr Ninnes in seconding the adoption of the report and balance sheet, traversed many of the items appearing in the Balance Sheet and expressed himself as well satisfied with the financial position of the Parish. After further discussion the adoption of the report and balance sheet was put and carried.


Election of Officers

The Vicar expressed his thanks to his retiring Warden Dr Hosking for his loyal help during the past year and stated it was the Doctor's wish that he be not re-elected and that he had appointed Mr R E Maunsell to be Vicar's Warden for the ensuing year.


People's Warden

Mr J Ninnes was unanimously re-elected People's Warden for a further term.


Vestry

12 nominations were received for the 10 seats on the Vestry, namely, Messrs Hale, Hyde, Hosking, HIckson, Peacock, Taylor, Stubbings, Penistone, Clarke, Russell, Coleman and Denbee.


Scrutineers

An election being necessary Messrs C Perry and Whitton were appointed scrutineers.

The result of the ballot showed the following ten (set out in alphabetical order) to have received the highest number of votes, viz, Messrs W A Clarke, E J Coleman, T T Denbee, G Hyde, A Hosking, E Hale, W Hickson, H M Peacock, W Penistone and R Russell.

The Vicar therefore declared the above-named to be duly elected Vestrymen for the ensuing year.


Hon Auditors

Mr Ninnes moved that the Hon Auditors Messrs G W Sellar and N H James be re-elected and that they be thanked for their past services. Seconded by Mr Hyde and carried.


Synodsmen

Mr Ninnes moved and Mr Denbee seconded that the retiring Synodsmen, Messrs Sydney Smith and H A R Dunderdale, be re-elected for a further term. Carried.


Choirmaster

Mr Denbee (on behalf of all present) conveyed to our choirmaster, Mr Mann, our appreciation of the high standard of efficiency to which he had brought the choir and expressed the wish that the same high standard may be maintained.


The meeting closed with the Grace.
