Vestry Meeting

Minutes of Vestry Meeting held in the Vicarage on Thursday, 28th September 1924, at 7.30 p.m. (Page 65-66)


Present

The Vicar presiding; Churchwardens Hale and Maunsell; Vestrymen Hyde, Maunsell; Penistone; Dunderdale; Williams, Ball, McCartney and Herbert.

An apology was received from Mr Hale.


Minutes

The minutes of the last ordinary and the special vestry meetings were read and confirmed.


Financial statement

The financial statement as appearing on page 739 was adopted and accounts totalling £708.13.3 were passed for payment.


Organ

Mr Tustin appeared in person and reported on the organ and suggested ways of remedying the present trouble.


Correspondence

Letter from Diocesan Trust Board in regard to 

(1) Subdivision of old church site;

(2) Disposal of Kuripuni section.


Subdivision old church site [Church Acre]

Mr Hyde moved and Mr Maunsell seconded that the matter of subdivision and valuation of the old church site be left in the hands of the Churchwardens to confer with the valuer and surveyor. Carried.

The Secretary was instructed to write to the Diocesan Board stating that the matter of having a subdivisional plan prepared was being managed and that the vestry would like to know from which fund payment would be made for such plan.


Kuripuni section

Mr Maunsell moved and Mr Hyde seconded that the matter of obtaining offers for Kuripuni section be left in the hands of the Vicar and Churchwardens.

Mr Hale moved and Mr Ball seconded that the fixed price on the section be £250.  Carried.


Hall Committee

The Vicar moved and Mr Hale seconded That Mr Dunderdale be appointed to the Hall Committee.  Carried.


Appointment of Verger

The Vicar reported that Mr Knapp had been appointed Verger as from 1st Oct 1924 at the rate of £2 per week, plus 10% of hall fees.

Mr Williams moved and Dr Hosking seconded that Woods be given one week's notice. Carried.


Repairs to Church

It was decided that the matter of having the holes in walls of the church made leak-proof be left in the hands of Mr Hyde.


Travelling allowance

That the Treasurer be instructed to include the travelling allowance with the assessment and pay of same through the Diocesan Office. 

That the matter of travelling allowance be left in the hands of the Finance Committee.


Offertories

Messrs Denbee and Herbert were appointed to take up the offertories for the month.


The meeting closed with the Grace.
