November 26, 1925 Vestry Meeting

Minutes of St Matthew's Vestry held in Vicarage ? on Thursday, 26 November, 1925, commencing at 7.30 p.m. (Page 86-87)


Present

Rev. Bullock presiding; Rev. Datson; Churchwarden Hosking; Vestrymen Ball, ? Hyde, McCartney, Penistone and Williams.

Apologies from Denbee, Green, Hale and Maunsell.


Minutes

Minutes of meeting on 29 October 1925 were read and confirmed.


Financial statement

As appearing on Page 727 was read and accounts totalling £16.10.2 appearing thereon were passed for payment.


Expenditure on vicarage

The Vicar was authorised to have a vicarage sign plate affixed to the front doors of the vicarage, to have a broken window in the study mended, and to get an estimate of the cost of having the hot water service put in order.


Amateur theatricals

The Secretary was requested to write to Mrs Bullock and express the Vestry's thanks to those helping in the concert and theatrical performances in aid of the Assistant Clergy Fund.


Fellowship Breakfast

The Vicar advised that this was to be held on Sunday 29/11/25 and he would be thankful for any gifts of food, etc. The vestry sanctioned any expense in connection with the breakfast.


Rent of Parish Hall

Mr Best proposed and Dr Hosking seconded that it be a recommendation to the Hall Committee that the rent be increased 10% all round.


Offertories

Messrs Hyde and Penistone were appointed to take up the offertories for December.


The meeting closed with the Grace.
