Special Vestry meeting
Minutes of Special Meeting of the Vestry held at the Vicarage, on Monday, September 12, 1924, at 7.30 p.m.
Present
The Vicar presiding; Churchwardens Hale and Hosking; Vestrymen Herbert, McCartney, Penistone, Dunderdale, Williams, Bell, Best, Hyde and Denbee.
Appointment of Verger
Mr McCartney moved and Mr Ball seconded That a verger be appointed. Carried.
Dr Hosking moved and Mr Herbert seconded that the question of defining the duties of the verger be left to the Hall Committee with Power to Act. Carried.
It was resolved that it be a recommendation to the Hall Committee, that it be made one of the conditions of the appointment that the Verger be responsible to and take his instruction from the Vicar.
Verger's salary
Mr Best moved and Mr Dunderdale seconded that the verger be paid £2 per week wages, plus 10% of all the hall fees up to 12% and one half of the fees derived from the letting of the hall from midnight to 1 a.m.
Mr Williams moved an amendment and Mr Hyde seconded, that the verger be paid £2 per week wages, plus 10% of all fees derived from the letting of the Hall.
The amendment on being put was declared Carried.
The amendment then became the motion and on being put was carried.
Mr Herbert and Mr Penistone seconded that the charges for letting of the hall be, as follows, viz, On any week night, other than Saturday, up to midnight, £2 after midnight and up to 1 am an additional 10/- Carried.
The meeting then closed.
