A. Stubbings
A letter was received from Mr A. Stubbings, complaining of the action of our Choirmaster, in certain particulars. In reply The Vicar moved and Mr Denbee seconded That the following reply be sent Mr Stubbings.
"It was with sincere regret that the Vestry received your letter of the 11th August. Members regret that any misunderstanding has arisen, and are confident that our Choirmaster desires only to serve the Church to the utmost of his power. The Vestry feel that you will recognise that the Choirmaster must be given freedom to administer his department, and we are assured that he would not willingly have done anything to hurt your feelings. There is a place for all in Christian service, and we hope that you will share in the work and services of the Church. We appreciate what you have all done in the past, and trust that even though not now in the choir, you will yet find, as faithful members of the congregation, opportunities of using your gifts to swell the volume of singing in the services of your Church."
Carried.
Butler Bequest

Maunsell Family
The Vicar reported that Mr L. B. Maunsell and Family would be leaving Masterton in the near future, and as a token of appreciation of their faithful services to our Church, that it would be fitting to make them some presentation, suggesting a Bible as being a suitable present and St Matthew's day Social a suitable occasion on which to make the presentation.
The Vestry unanimously approved the Vicar's Suggestion and undertook to collect the money to defray the cost of the Bible.
