July 29, 1926 Vestry meeting

Minutes of Vestry Meeting held in Common Room on Thursday, July 29, 1926 at 7.30 p.m. (Page 97)


Present 

Churchwardens Maunsell and Hosking; Vestrymen Penistone, Hale, Morton, Smith, Green, Denbee and Rev. Datson.

In the absence of the Vicar through sickness Mr L B Maunsell was voted to the chair.


Minutes

The minutes of the last meeting of the Vestry held on Thursday, June 26 were read and confirmed.

Arising therefrom Mr Denbee stated he had sent a letter to Mr Spiers conveying the Vestry's appreciation of his services in painting the Church doors.


Report on organ

The sub-committee appointed to report on the organ from time to time requested that their report be left in abeyance until the next meeting of the vestry.


Church heating

In view of the absence of the Vicar it was resolved that the letter from Mr Blackman re heating the church be held over until the next meeting of the Vestry.


Financial statement

The Financial statement as appearing on page 714 was adopted and accounts totalling  £26.19.3 appearing thereon were passed for payment.


Letting old Parish Hall

It was resolved that the method of letting the Old Parish Hall to outside organisations, whereby the said letting clashed with the date on which the Boy Scouts' used the hall be enquired into by Mr Green.


Offertories

Messrs Sydney Smith and Best were appointed to take up the offertories for August.


The meeting closed with the Grace.
