Special Vestry meeting
Minutes of Special Meeting of the Vestry held at the Vicarage on Sunday, August 10, at the close of the evening service. (page 62)
Present
The Vicar presiding; Churchwardens Hale and Hosking; Vestrymen Hyde, Dunderdale, Maunsell, Herbert, Ball, McCartney, Denbee and Rev. Gibson.
Business
Consideration of letter from Diocesan Treasurer re
price of section at Kuripuni, etc, etc,
the matter of removal of some of the buildings from the old Church Site [Church Acre]
Kuripuni Section
It was resolved on the motion of the Vicar, seconded by Mr Herbert, that the Diocesan Treasurer be informed the Vestry considers £250 a fair price for the Section in question.
Mr Hyde moved and Mr Hale seconded That the proceeds from the sale of the section be handed to the Diocesan Trustees to be held in Trust (plus the interest as it accrues) until the time when a new Vicarage is to be built at the southern end of the parish. Carried.
Old buildings Church site
The reply from the Borough Council, to the Secretary's application for permission to remove a portion of the buildings from the old Church Site was duly considered.
Dr Hosking moved that a sub-committee consisting of Messrs Maunsell, Penistone and the mover, with the Vicar "Ex Officio" be set up, such committee to bring down a report to the next meeting of the Vestry.
The same sub-committee to also report on the possibilities of utilising the upstairs portion of the New Parish Hall for a meeting room for the Boy Scouts and any other purpose. Seconded Mr Hyde and Carried.
The meeting then closed.
