Minutes of Vestry meeting held in the Common Room on Thursday, March 22, 1923, at 7.30 p.m.
Present
The Vicar presiding; Churchwarden Major, Vestryman Whitton, Waddington, Dodge, Trimen, Hyde, Evans and Denbee.
Apologies
Apologies for absence were received from Messrs Hale, Blackman and Best.
Minutes
The Minutes of the last vestry meeting held on Thursday, February 22, 1933, were read and confirmed.
Arising therefrom
Car allowance
Mr Denbee moved (in accordance with notice previously given) that the resolution passed in May 1921 relative to the car allowance "Be rescinded" and moved in place thereof.
That commencing with the next financial year the sum of Vestry meeting March 23, 1933, the sum of £50 allowed the Vicar for the upkeep of the car cease, and that the Vestry pay all accounts in connection with the parish motor car. Seconded by Mr Waddington pro forma.
The Vestry having expressed their views on the matter Mr Denbee withdrew his motion in favour of the following.
That it be a recommendation to the incoming Vestry that the question of the supply and upkeep of the parish car be considered forthwith.
House for Rev. Moir
It was resolved on the motion of Mr Whitton, seconded by Mr Denbee, that the churchwardens be authorised to sign the agreement in connection with the lease of Mrs Inn's house to the Vestry.
Grey Bros. land
Mr Major updated that the purchase of the land from Messrs Grey Bros. had been completed.
Date of annual meeting
Mr Dodge moved that the date on which to hold the Annual Parishioners' Meeting be Thursday, April26, at 7.30. Seconded by Mr Trimen and carried.
Financial Statement
The Vicar moved that the financial statement as appearing on page 750 be adopted and accounts as appearing thereon passed for payment. Seconded by Mr Denbee and carried.
Offertories
Messrs Hyde and Trimen were appointed to take up the offertories for April.
The meeting closed with the Grace.
