October 1934 Vestry Meeting
Minutes of Vestry Meeting held at the Vicarage on Tuesday, October 30, 1934, at 8 p.m. (Page 242)
Present
The Vicar presiding; Churchwardens Maunsell and Ninnes; Vestrymen Hyde, Penistone, Russell, Clark, Coleman, Peacock and Denbee.
Apologies
Apologies for absence Mr Ramsay.
Minutes
The minutes of the last ordinary meeting of the vestry, also the minutes of a special meeting held on Thursday, 4th October were read and confirmed.
Financial Statement
Mr Maunsell moved and Mr Russell seconded That the financial statement be received and accounts amounting to £29.9.11 passed for payment. Carried.
Mrs Hunn
The Vicar moved That Mrs Hunn be granted three months leave of absence on full pay and that a letter be sent conveying the Vestry's sincere sympathy with her in her illness. Seconded by Mr Ninnes and carried.
Church Repairs
Mr Hyde moved That a Special Appeal be made for funds towards the expenses incurred in connection with restoring the damage to the Church, caused through the storm on October 1st. The appeal to close on Armistice Day, November 11th. Seconded by Mr Peacock and Carried.
Kuripuni Ladies' Guild
The Vicar moved That a letter of appreciation be sent to the Kuripuni Ladies' Guild thanking them for their donation of £10 towards the St Matthew's Church Restoration Fund. Seconded by Mr Clark and carried.
Offertories
Messrs Coleman and Russell were appointed to take up the offertories for November.
The meeting closed with the Grace.
