A wedding in which considerable interest was evinced was solemnised at St. Alban's Church, Taueru, yesterday, when Mr Angus Drummond McMaster, eldest son of Mrs McMaster, Upper Plain, Masterton, was married to Miss Jessie Baird, youngest daughter of Mrs Baird, of "Otahuao." The ceremony was performed by the Rev. B. D. Ashcroft.
The bride was given away by her uncle, Mr Walter Mace, and Miss Isabella Bennett attended as bridesmaid. Mr Donald McDougall, of Pirinoa, was groomsman.
A reception was afterwards held at the residence of the bride's mother, at which there was a large gathering.
Mr and Mrs McMaster left later en route for Napier on their honeymoon.
