March 1935 Vestry Meeting
Minutes of the Vestry Meeting held at the Vicarage on Tuesday, March 26, at 8 p.m. (Page 246)
Present
The Vicar presiding; Churchwardens Maunsell and Ninnes; Vestrymen Russell, Coleman, Penistone, Peacock, Clarke, Hyde and Denbee.
Minutes
The minutes of the vestry meeting held on Tuesday, July 26, were read and confirmed.
Financial Statement
It was resolved that the financial statement be received and accounts totalling £6.12.0 passed for payment.
Synodsmen
Mr Ninnes moved that the election of Synodsmen take place at the Annual Meeting and that the Bishop's consent to that procedure be obtained. Carried.
Mr Knapp
The Vicar moved that a bonus of £5 be granted to Mr Knapp in recognition of the way he carried through the great amount of extra work entailed through the storm in October last. Seconded by Mr Ninnes and carried.
Parish Hall Roof
Mr Hyde moved That the matter of painting the parish hall roof, and other necessary parts, be put in hand forthwith, the matter of accepting a price for the work to be left in the hands of the Vicar and Mr Ninnes, who shall have power to act. Seconded by Mr Russell and carried.
Piano Repairs
It was resolved that the action of the Treasurer in instructing Mr Millar Hope to carry out repairs to the old piano in the hall at a cost of about £1 be confirmed.
Trust accounts
It was resolved that all the trust accounts be put in order by March 31st.
Annual Meeting
The Vicar moved That the annual meeting of parishioners be held on the date of the next vestry meeting, viz, Tuesday, April 30 and that the matter of arranging supper be left to the Churchwardens.
Offertories
Messrs Coleman and Russell wee appointed to take up the offertories for April.
The meeting closed with the Grace.
