May 1922 Vestry Meeting

Minutes of Vestry Meeting held at the Vicarage on Thursday, May 24, 1922, at 8.15 p.m. (Pages 1-2) Page 2 to come - needs rescanning.


Present

The Vicar, the Rev. Wm. Bullock presiding; Churchwardens Hale and Major; Vestrymen Evans, Trimen, Waddington, Welch, Whitton, Hyde and Denbee.

Apologies for absence were received from Messrs Blackman and Clarke.


Minutes

The minutes of the last ordinary meeting of the Vestry held on March 30, 1922, also those of a special meeting held on Monday, May 9, 1922, were read and confirmed.


Institution of Vicar

It was resolved on the motion of Mr Major, seconded by Mr Hyde,  that the Vicar be authorised to have the forms of service for his Institution printed and that the welcome social immediately following the service be held in the Parish Hall.

That the Secretary issue an invitation to all Wairarapa clergy to attend the Institution of the Rev. Wm. Bullock on June 7th, offering them hospitality if desired.


Motor car

That the question of repairs to the motor car be left in the hands of Messrs Evans and Major with power to act.


Treasurer

Mr Major moved and Mr Hale Seconded that Mr W G Lamb be appointed Treasurer at a remuneration of £25 per annum.  Carried.


Empire Sunday Service

The Vicar moved that in lieu of an offertory being taken up on the occasion of the Service for Men at the Empire Sunday Service, a plate be placed at the end of the church, the proceeds of which to be placed to the fund for the relief of the unemployed. Seconded by Mr Major and carried.
