PRESENTATION TO VICAR.

APPRECIATION OF TEN YEARS' SERVICE.

To mark the completion of ten years" service as Vicar of St Matthew's Parish and as a token of the parishioners' appreciation of the good work accomplished, a presentation was made last night to the Ven. Archdeacon E. J. Rich. It was stated that when Mr Rich came to Masterton ten years ago the parish was loaded with a fairly big debt. Since then, largely due to Mr Rich's untiring efforts, the debt had been wiped out and all the church organisations had been built up, so that at present they were all one big happy family, working together in close co-operation.

On behalf of the parishioners, Mr J. Ninnes, Peoples' Church Warden, presented Mr Rich with a handsome oak desk. Mr W. Kemp. speaking for the Church of the Epiphany, added his tribute to Mr Rich's excellent work.

Mr Rich took the opportunity of making a presentation to Mr Ninnės in appreciation of his ten years' service as Peoples' Church Warden.
