March 1933 Vestry Minutes

Minutes of Vestry Meeting held at The Vicarage on Tuesday, March 28, 1933, at 7.30 p.m (Page 211)


Present
The Vicar presiding; Churchwardens Maunsell and Ninnes; Vestrymen Clarke, Coleman, Russell, Penistone, Peacock, Hale, Denbee.  Apologies Hosking and Hyde.


Minutes
The minutes of the Vestry Meeting held on Tuesday, Feb 28 were read and confirmed.


Correspondence
A letter was received from the Diocesan Treasurer thanking the Vestry for their prompt reply to his letter re cutting down certain trees on the old Church acre. Letter received.


Synodsmen
The Parishioner's Churchwarden received a letter from the Diocesan Treasurer informing him Mr S.W. Smith[1] had vacated his seat in the Synod, having been absent throughout the last session without leave, in reply That a Special Meeting of the Vestry [should be Parish] be called (for the purpose of electing a Synodsman) on Wednesday, April 5, at 8.15 in the Common room.


Kneelers in Choir Stalls
The Vicar reported the kneelers in the Choir Stalls had been repaired and the costs for same had been born by an anonymous donor whose generous action was much appreciated.


Car Allowance
Mr Clarke moved and Mr Russell seconded That the Car allowance be allocated as follows:

£70 to the Parish account and
£50 to Kuripuni.


Rents
Mr Denbee moved and Mr Ninnes seconded That the balance of the rents from the Church Acre amounting to £91.4.2 be credited to the Parish Account and Assistant Clergy Fund in the following proportion, viz, £60 to the parish account and £31.4.2 to the Assistant Clergy Fund.


Financial Statement
The Treasurer presented a comprehensive statement showing the approximate position of the Church's finance for the year. The Vicar moved and Mr Hale seconded That the statement "Be read" and the Treasurer thanked for same.


Ledger
It was resolved That the matter of procuring an offertory ledger be left in the hands of Mr Ninnes.


The meeting closed with the Grace.
