Minutes of Vestry Meeting held at the Vicarage on Tuesday, May 29, 1934 at 7.30. (Page 233)
Present
The Vicar presiding; Churchwardens Maunsell and Ninnes; Vestrymen Hosking, Jackson, Hyde, Russell, clark, Penistone, Coleman.
Apologies Messrs Peacock, Hale and Denbee.
Minutes
The Minutes of the last ordinary meeting of the vestry, also the minutes of a special meeting held at the close of the Annual Meeting were read and confirmed.
Archdeacon Johnson
It was resolved on the motion of the Vicar that a letter be sent to Archdeacon Johnson, expressing the vestry's sympathy with him in his recent sad bereavement.
Basket Batt
In reply to letters received from St Matthew's Tennis club re the use of the Tennis Club Courts for Basket Batt by the Technical School Girls, Mr Clark moved that subject to the approval of the Mayor, the Technical School girls be allowed to play Basket Batt on the tennis courts on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1.20 to 4 pm during the winter months. Seconded by Mr Ninnes and carried.
Parochial nominators
Dr Hosking moved that the churchwardens, with Messrs Hale and Hyde be elected parochial nominators for the current term. Seconded by Mr Clark and carried.
Day of Giving
Moved by the Vicar that the proceeds from the Day of Giving be allocated as follows, viz,
To the Assistant Clergy Fund £150
To the Parish Hall £150, and
To the General Church Fund £96.5.6
Carried.
Finance Committee
Mr Jackson moved That a sub-committee be appointed, to be known as the Finance Committee. Seconded by Mr Ninnes and Carried.
Financial Statement
Mr Ninnes moved That the Financial Statement be received and accounts totalling £27.9.4 passed for payment. Seconded Russell and Carried.
Offertories
Messrs Russell and Coleman were appointed to take up the offertories for June.
The meeting closed with the Grace.
