The Vicar presiding; Churchwardens Major and Hale; Vestrymen Dodge, Blackman, Whitton, Waddington, Hyde and Denbee.


Minutes

The minutes of the vestry meeting held on Thursday, November 30, 1922, were read and confirmed.


Correspondence:  Sewing Guild

The Hon. Sec. of St Matthew's Ladies Guild forwarded a copy of a resolution passed by the Guild re the Guild's funds.

Mr Major moved and Mr Waddington seconded that the Guild be thanked for their letter and the contents of same recorded in the Minutes of the Vestry. Carried.

The following is the resolution in question, viz,

The Guild authorises the Vestry to use the funds in hand for the purchase of the Section next to the Church and hopes to add a substantial amount to the fund from their Sale of Work to be held on Wednesday next.


Financial Statement

It as resolved that the Financial Statement as appearing on page 754 be taken as read and accounts as presented by the Treasurer passed for payment.


Car repairs

It was resolved that the cost of repairs to the motor car amounting to about £10 be paid by the Vestry.


Mr Hale moved and Mr Hyde seconded that the matter of renting a house for the Revd. Moir be left to the House Committee.


Repairs to window

It was resolved that the action of Mr Hale in employing Mr Penistone to effect repairs to the west window in the Church be confirmed and that the window be further strengthened by Mr Penistone under the supervision of the Vicar.


Painting vicarage

Mr Denbee moved and Mr Major seconded that the matter of getting the Vicarage painted be left in the hands of the Churchwardens and Mr Dodge with power to act. Carried.


Offertories

Messrs Evans and Clark were appointed to take up the offertories for February.
