September 1923 Vestry Meeting
Minutes of Vestry Meeting held at the Vicarage on Thursday, September 27, 1923, at 7.30 p.m. (Pages 39-40)
Present
The Vicar presiding; Rev. Gibson; Churchwarden Hal; Vestrymen Ball, Dunderdale, Hyde, Waddington, Trimen, Hosking and Denbee.
Apologies for absence were received from Messrs Evans, Dodge and Herbert.
Minutes
The Minutes of the Vestry meeting held on Thursday, August 30th, were read and confirmed.
Parish Social
It was resolved that letters be sent to Ladies responsible for the refreshments in connection with the recent Social, also to Mrs Hunn conveying to them the Vestry's appreciation of their efforts in helping to make the Social the success it undoubtedly was.
Church cleaner
It was resolved that the Vicar's action in engaging Mrs Miller to do the church cleaning at 7/6 per week be confirmed and that he be authorised in addition to pay Mrs Millar 18/- to thoroughly clean the church.
Curate at meetings
Mr Hale moved and Mr Ball seconded that the Curate be heartely welcomed at all Vestry meetings in an advisory capacity but without voting powers.
Financial Statement
Mr Denbee moved the adoption of the Financial Statement as appearing on page 748 and that accounts totalling £35.3.8 be passed for payment. Seconded by Mr Ball and Carried.
Kuripuni Section
It was resolved that the Secretary write to the Diocesan Secretary relative to the section of land at Kuripuni owned by the Diocesan Trustees, asking for information concerning same.
Parish Car
Mr Denbee moved that for the purpose of dealing with the question of procuring a new parish car that a sub-committee consisting of Dr A Hosking, Mr T Evans, with the Vicar, be set up and that such sub-commitee be gien power to Act. Seconded by Mr Hale and Carried.
