Vestry Meeting

Minutes of Vestry Meeting held at the Vicarage on Thursday, January 31, 1924, at 7 p.m. (Page 49)


Present

The Vicar presiding; Churchwarden Hale; Vestrymen Hyde, Waddington, Evans, Dunderdale, Ball, Herbert, Hosking and Denbee.

An apology for absence was received from Mr Dodge.


Correspondence - Diocesan Trustees

In response to the Diocesan Secretary and letter re the sale of Kuripuni Section.

It was resolved that the matter be left in the hands of the Vicar to make further enquiries and report to the next vestry meeting.


Parish Hall Building Loan

The Ladies' Sewing Guild and Girls' Club secretaries forwarded resolutions, agreeing to make all monies raised by their respective guilds a first charge towards the interest on the Parish Hall Building Loan.


Vicarage Fence

It was resolved that the question of having the wooden portion of the Vicarage fence facing Church Street painted or removed, be left to the discretion of the Painting Committee.


Church Lighting

Dr Hosking moved and Mr Hyde seconded that the Power Board be requested to furnish the vestry with a report on the best method of installing electric light in the Church and the cost of same.


Financial Statement

The financial statement for two months as appearing on page 746 was adopted.


Offertories

Messrs Hyde and Trimen were appointed to take up the Offertories for February.


The meeting closed with the Grace.
