August 25, 1925 Vestry Meeting

Minutes of Vestry held in the Common Room on Thursday, August 25, 1925, at 7.30 p.m. (Page 84)


Present

The Vicar presiding; Churchwardens Hosking and Maunsell; Vestrymen McCartney, Ball, Best, Williams, Hale and Denbee.

Apologies for absence were received from Messrs Green, Morton and Hyde.


Minutes

The minutes of the last meeting of the Vestry held on Thursday, July 30, 1925 were read and confirmed.


Correspondence

Parish Hall Committee

A letter was received from the Parish Hall Committee in connection with an application from Miss Cresswell asking for the use of the Common Room after morning service. In reply thereto the Committee recommend that the Hall be unlocked after the service, but that the use of the Common Room be not granted.

It was resolved on the motion of Mr Denbee, seconded by Mr Maunsell, that the Committee's recommendation be confirmed.


W Andrew

The Vicar reported the gift of a Cyclone gate for the back entrance to the church section from Mr W[illiam] Andrew. It was resolved that a letter be sent to Mr W Andrew from the Vestry, sincerely thanking him for his gift.


Financial statement

The Financial statement as appeared on Page 730 was adopted and accounts totalling £20.19.9 were passed for payment.


Offertories

Messrs Williams and Green were appointed to take up the offertories for September.


The meeting closed with the Grace.
