Present

The Vicar presiding; Churchwardens Maunsell and Hosking; Vestrymen Ninnes, Russell, Hale, Hyde, Herbert, Penistone, Morton, Smith, Green and Denbee.


Minutes

The minutes of the vestry meeting held on March 21, 1927, also the minutes of the special meeting held on Monday, May 2, 1927, were read and confirmed.


Hall Committee

It was resolved that the Hall Committee consist of the following, viz, Mrs Bullock; Mrs Keen?, Mrs Spackman, Miss Spencer, Messrs Green, Morton, Herbert and Hyde.


Boy Scouts

The matter of complying with the scouts' request re taking away a partition, shifting stage etc in the old parish hall was left in the hands of the Hall Committee with Power to Act.


Duplex System [offering system]

Dr Hosking moved and Mr Hale seconded that the vestry approve the adoption of the duplex system.


Financial statement

The financial statement as appearing on page 708 was adopted and accounts appearing thereon amounting to  £15/16/- passed for payment.


Fixed Deposit

The following resolution concerning the money placed on paid deposit with the Bank of N.S.W. was duly passed.

At a duly authorised and properly constituted meeting of the St Matthew's Parish Vestry, it was resolved that the fixed deposit account in the books of the Bank at Masterton will be operated upon in the following manner (any one) by the Vicar, Rev. W Bullock or the Churchwardens Mr L B Maunsell and Dr Archer Hosking, or the Treasurer, H B Dyer.


Church building

Mr Morton moved that a sub-committee of 5 be set up with power to act, in the matter of employing an architect for the purpose of preparing plans, etc for the clergy vestry and side chapel, such sub-committee to consist of Messrs Russell, Smith, Penistone, Dr Hosking and the Vicar. Seconded by Mr Hale and carried.


Late J W Blackman

The Vicar moved that the Secretary write Mrs Blackman conveying the vestry's extreme regret at the passing of the late J W Blackman and expressing the Vestry's deepest sympathy with her and her family in their sad bereavement.

The motion was carried in silence.


Offertories

Messrs Morton and Russell were appointed to take up the offertories for June.


The meeting closed with the Grace.
