People's Warden

Mr J Ninnes was re-elected on the motion of Mr G Hyde, seconded by Mr William Mann.


Vestry

Mr Dewar moved that owing to the wonderful services rendered by the vestrymen in the past twelve months they be re-elected. Seconded by Mr Bennington. There being no further nominations, the retiring vestrymen were re-elected in full.


Hon Auditors

Mr A Daven Jones moved that Messrs G W Sellar and N H James be re-elected and that the thanks of the Parish be conveyed to them for their generous services. Seconded by Mr J Ninnes and carried by acclamation.


Synodsmen

The Vicar withdrew from the Chair and Mr J Ninnes was elected Chairman of the meeting. Mr R L Maunsell proposed and Mr H A R Dunderdale seconded that Mr H M Peacock be elected. Mr Penistone proposed and Mr Clarke seconded that Mr P G Ramsay be elected. There being no further nominations, Messrs Peacock and Ramsay were declared duly elected.


Rev E J Rich now resumed the Chair.


Archdeacon Godrey

The Vicar read a letter received from Archdeacon Godfrey resigning from the Melanesian Mission on account of ill health. The Vicar moved "That this meeting regrets that for medical reasons Archdeacon Godfrey has had to resign from the Melanesian Mission, sends him greetings, thanks him for his long service as our representative, and wishes him God's blessing in his future work." Seconded by Mr Hale and carried unanimously.


New chapel

Mr J Ninnes referred to the possibility of finalising the work on the new chapel, during the coming year, and moved "that this meeting authorises the expenditure of not less than £100, nor more than the Trust Funds in hand at the date when the proposed work is put in hand to complete the new chapel, or such part of same as can be completed with the trust funds available." Seconded by Mr A Lewin Jones and carried.


General business

Several parishioners spoke regarding the heating arrangements in the church. 

Mr G Hyde referred to the hospitality of Mrs Rich at all meetings of the vestry and moved that the vestry's appreciation be placed on record. The resolution was carried by acclamation. 

Mr J Ninnes moved that the appreciation of parishioners for the services rendered by Mr Knapp as verger be placed on record. Carried by acclamation.

Mr R E Maunsell moved a note of thanks to Messrs Denbee and Dunderdale, Hon Secretary and Treasurer respectively, for their services. Carried by acclamation.


This terminated the business and the meeting closed with the Grace.
