Vestry meeting

Minutes of Vestry Meeting held in the Common Room on Thursday, June 25, 1925, at 7.30 p.m. Pages 81-82


Present

The Vicar presiding; Churchwardens Maunsell and Hosking; Vestrymen Best, Penistone, Morton, Hale, Ball, McCartney, Williams and Denbee.

An apology for absence was received from Mr Hyde.


Minutes

The Minutes of the last advisory meeting of the Vestry held on May 23rd, also the Minutes of Special Meetings held on Thursday, April 30th and Wednesday, April 22nd were read and confirmed.


Conveniences

Two tenders were received for connecting up the conveniences in the church grounds with the service. Mr Hale moved and Mr Ball seconded that the tender of Pickering Bros. at 5/1/6 for the complete job be accepted. Carried.


Repairs to church roof

It was resolved that Mr Penistone be employed to get the spouting round the church cleaned out to stop leaks over the baptistry and chancel steps and to bring down a report to the next meeting of the Vestry on any other defects he may observe requiring attention, when on the roof.


Financial Statement

The Vicar moved that the Financial Statement as submitted be adopted. Seconded by Mr Hale and carried.

It was resolved that the accounts appearing on the financial statement be passed for payment, subject to the Printing Coy, Turner and Evans and Gas Department being held over for further enquiries.


Magazine account

Mr Denbee moved and Mr Williams seconded that the Treasurer pay the Printing Coy what funds he has on hand off the magazine account. Carried.


Curate Funds

Mr McCartney moved that the Treasurer make application to headquarters for a further advance of £50 for the Curate Fund. Seconded by Dr Hosking and Carried.


It was resolved that a Finance Committee be set up, such committee to consist of Messrs Maunsell, Hosking, Williams and McCartney, with the Vicar ex officio.


Offertories

Messrs Best and Morton were appointed to take up the offertories for July.


The meeting closed with the Grace.
