A very pretty wedding was celebrated at St. Matthew's Church this afternoon, when Mr William Kemp, second son of Mr Mark Kemp, of Epsom, England, was married to Miss Winifred Saker, eldest daughter of Mr G. Saker, of Perry-street, Masterton. The bride, who was given away by her father, was charmingly attired...
Miss Lucy Saker (chief), sister of the bride, and Miss Peat, of Opunake, attended as bridesmaids... Mr D. Hebenton was best man, and Mr R. Vaughan was groomsman. The ceremony was conducted by the Rev. H. Watson, and Mr. H. S. Claughton, the organist, played the Wedding March.
A reception was held subsequently in the Exchange Hall, where' a large number of guests were entertained. and the usual toasts were honoured aud complimentary speeches made...
This evening a dance will be held in Murray's buildings, to commemorate the occasion.
