Correspondence

A letter was received from the Plunket Society thanking the Vestry for placing the Parish Hall at their disposal on June 27th. It was resolved that the same be received.
Diocesan Treasurer
The Diocesan Treasurer wrote asking the Vestry's advice on
(1) The disposal of the material of the Old Church;
(2) The disposal of the land.
It was resolved that a reply be sent stating on the opinion of this Vestry, the better course to pursue is to find a lessee or lessees for the section first of all, the rent suggested, viz 29/- per foot we consider a fair rental for the whole section. However, if the land is let in parts, then 30/- per foot would be a fair price for the sections nearest the main street, and that the sections lower down be reduced accordingly.
In the matter of disposal of the material of the old Church, That consideration will be given to same in due course.
That the Vestry are satisfied that leases in perpetuity, as suggested, would be the most advantageous and that the Secretary ascertain whether it is the will of the Diocesan Trustees for the Vestry to endeavour to let the land or take action themselves.
