July 1935 Vestry Meeting
Minutes of Vestry Meeting held at the Vicarage on Tuesday, July 30, 1935, at 7.30 p.m. (Page 254)
Present
The Vicar presided; Churchwardens Maunsell and Ninnes; Vestrymen Penistone, Clark, Russell, Hyde, Denbee.
Finger post
It was resolved that a finger post be erected on Mr Pithas verandah, "To St Matthew's Church" and Mr Pithas thanked for allowing each sign to be so erected.
Financial Statement
Mr Peacock moved that the financial statement be received and accounts totalling £4.7.1 passed for payment. Seconded by Mr Clark and carried.
Chapel completion
The Vicar moved That the Committee call for tenders locally for the general panelling and furnishings as soon as the architects plans are ready and report to a special meeting of the Vestry. Seconded by Mr Hyde and carried.
Stipend
It was unanimously resolved that the balance of the 10% cut in the Vicar's stipend be restored as from July 1, 1935.
Piano repairs
Mr Ninnes moved and Mr Russell seconded that the vestry contribute 10/6 toward the cost of the repairs to the piano incurred by the Scouts. Carried.
Offertories
Messrs Hyde and Ramsay were appointed to take up the offertories for August.
The meeting closed with the Grace.
