July 1923 Special Vestry Meeting
Minutes of Special Meeting of Vestry, held in the Vicarage on Monday, July 17, 1923, at 7.30 p.m. for the purpose of consideration of plans for a new Parish Hall and Sunday School and for the purpose of finding ways and means. (Page 33)
Present
The Vicar presiding; Churchwardens Hale and Dodge; Vestrymen Waddington, Evans, Herbert, Dunderdale, Ball, Trimen, Hyde, Hosking and Denbee.
Building Committee
It was resolved on the motion of Dr Hosking, seconded by Mr Trimen that Mr Hyde be added to the Building Committee;
That the plans of the Building Committee as submitted, be referred back to the committee with certain suggestions. The committee to confer with the Architect and bring down the plans for further consideration by the Vestry as a whole at its next ordinary meeting.
Secretary
It was unanimously resolved that the Vicar interview Miss Vallance with a view to her accepting the position of Secretary to the Parish Hall and Sunday School building scheme.
Beautifying church grounds
Mr Hale was unanimously elected to serve on the committee already set up, for the purpose of beautifying the Church Grounds, such committee being given power to act.
Raising a mortgage
Several suggestions were made in connection with raising a mortgage for the purpose of building the hall and instructions given whereby enquiries were to be made in certain quarters to ascertain if money was available for investment, also the terms, rate of interest, etc, and to report at a later meeting.
The meeting then closed.
