Minutes
The minutes of the last meeting of the Vestry held on Tuesday, September 26, also the minutes of a special meeting held on Wednesday, September 27, were read and confirmed.
Correspondence
Diocesan Treasurer
It was resolved that the letter from the Diocesan Treasurer re Mr Harcombe (lease of further section [Church Acre] be received.
Church Upper Plain
In the matter of an inquiry from the Diocesan Trustees concerning the insurance on the Upper Plain Church [St Andrew's in the Paddock] on account of the mortgage, etc. Mr Denbee moved and Mr Ninnes seconded That Mr Carter be informed our records shews that the section was transferred from Andrews to the Diocesan Trustees in March 1934 [probably 1924], confirmation of which he can obtain from the Valuation Department and that the mortgage was paid off in the following year.
Ladies Guild and Girls Club
The Vicar explained the result of the recent efforts and both the Ladies Guild and their Sale of Work, and the Girls Club and their Entertainment. The Vestry was unanimous in expressing their entire satisfaction with the results in each instance and it was resolved that a letter be sent to each organisation, conveying the meeting's very sincere appreciation of their efforts and the gratifying results attained.
Financial Statement
It was resolved that the Financial Statement be received and accounts submitted amounting to £7.7.0 passed for payment.
Hours of meeting
Mr Denbee moved and Mr Hyde seconded That until further notice the Vestry meet at 8 p.m. in lieu of 7.30 p.m. Carried.
Offertories
The Churchwardens were appointed to take up the offertories for November.
The meeting closed with the Grace.
