WELCH-McLACHLAN
A wedding of considerable local interest was solemnized at St. Matthew's Church, this afternoon, between Mr V. K. Welch, son of the late Mr G. H. Welch, of Masterton, and Miss Ruby McLachlan, eldest daughter of Mr Duncan McLachlan, of "Willow Park," Opaki. Miss I. McLachlan was bridesmaid and Mr Claude Welch best man. The bride wore white crepe de Chine with over-dress of brocaded silk and lace, veil held with a bandeau of pearls. She carried a bouquet of pale pink and white roses, with maiden. bair and asparagus fern, tied with pink ribbon. The bridesmaid's dress was of pale pink crepe de Chine, with over-dress of ninon, and she wore a black velvet hat, trimmed with pink rose and ribbons. Her bouquet consisted of heliotrope cactus dahlias, with asparagus ferns and ribbons to match.
A reception was held at Mrs Capper's and Mr and Mrs Welch left for the north in the afternoon.
